This process is the final step of a Raku firing referred to as a “flash”. The mushroom cloud of fire can help influence the flame painted results on the surface of the pots as well as reignite any remaining combustible materials left inside the reduction chamber creating richer carbon trapping on unglazed areas. Raku fired bowl with yellow Raku glaze. With the video I would like to show you all the process from greenware to Raku firing. So after the trimming and create the rough texture, the piece is bisque fired in the electric kiln. The pieces are fired for 8-9h up to 970 C degrees. Higher temperature is not good for Raku firing because is closing the pourers of the clay, so later It will not absorb the smoke. Some potters are going up to 1000 C degrees but I suggest to not go higher if you would like
